Research and Planning: Regulation

The current BBFC system is:

- Uc (Universal: Children) This is suitable for all, but particularly for young children below the age of 8.
- U (Universal) This is suitable for all ages.
- PG (Parental Guidance) Generel viewing, however some scenes might be unsuitable for children under the age of 8; therefore, parents are advised to watch the film beforehand.
- 12A (12 Accompained) Suitable for ages 12 and over, unless they are accompanied by an adult.
- 12 Ages 12 and over.
- 15 Ages 15 and over.
- 18 Suitable for adults. Age 18 and over.
- R18 (Restricted 18) For adults, 18 and over. This is shown/sold in only specially licensed cinemas or licensed sex shops

The BBFC certificate i think my film should have is either a 15 or an 18, depending on the what the final outcome of the trailer is. As it is a horror, there will be scenes that create fear through violence, death ect. We might decide with the finishing piece that it is too graphical or upsetting for it to have a 15 rating.
